Malmaison is a small boutique UK hotel chain, with fewer than 20 properties in the country. Due to its size and lack of loyalty programme it’s not a very popular choice among frequent travellers, and I have never stayed with them.
They are running an interesting promotion called Sunday Stopover at the moment, which can be accessed here.
- It’s an ongoing promotion, valid for Sunday stays only
- Standard rooms under this rate costs £50
- You must spend at least £50 on dinner
Breakfast, lunch and room service are excluded. If you spend less than £50 on dinner, the difference will be added to the bill. No matter how they phrase it, you are essentially paying £100 for a one-night Sunday stay, with £50 hotel credit to spend on dinner.
Participating locations include London, Manchester, Brighton, Liverpool and Edinburgh etc. I can’t find any London availability until October though, and its actual rate is £70 instead of £50.
For Brighton, the rate is available for September 6th:
You can also pay a higher price for premium rooms, and this is an example for Liverpool:
Malmaison’s sister brand, Hotel du Vin, has a very similar promotion here. Terms are almost identical, except that you need to spend £75 on dining instead.
This could be a very good rate for some, although hotel prices tend to be pretty low at the moment so look out for all the deals.
