GHA sent out a new survey lately, and it’s your chance to earn some free D$!

The survey takes 5-10 minutes to complete, and you’ll earn D$20 as a reward in the end.

The reward will hit your account by February 16th. I’ve had a couple of experiences redeeming D$ now and it’s usually quite easy. My main complaint is, D$ earned though promotions such as this one is usually very short-lived, with a 6-month or even 3-month expiry, and thus very restricted.

The GHA group has some solid promotions this year, but this new one from Kempinski has reached a different level.

• Book by December 24th
• Stay by March 31st
• Earn D$100 bonus on your bookings

Note that you must book via the Kempinski app, not the GHA one. Although the terms aren’t super clear, from its phrasing I believe you can earn the bonus multiple times.

GHA’s D$ can be redeemed like cash on most occasions, which means you are earning $100 back for each Kempinski stay. There are some very cheap hotels in China / Asia for example:

You can book a stay, earn the bonus and use it towards your next stay – rinse and repeat.

I just received an email from GHA about a pretty good promotion. It started two months ago but somehow slipped under my radar.

You can read about the offer here. You don’t need to register, and you’ll earn D$15 for every GHA stay booked via their mobile app. There’s no limit on how much bonus you could earn under this promotion.

D$15 is a very solid rebate especially on cheap one-night stays. If you have a stay of multiple nights, well maybe try to book them as multiple stays, and cross your fingers…

GHA Discovery launched its new program in 2021, and discontinued the much beloved Local Experiences award. It’s replaced with a new feature called Local Offers, which isn’t as exciting but caters to a wider audience.

You could view the Local Offers page here (login required). What’s peculiar about it is you don’t need to stay at the hotel – so say if you are just interested in dining in the restaurant of one specific GHA hotel, it’s worth checking if there are any exclusive discounts.

Most of the offers are discounts for dining, massage or experiences. However there’s a special category filter for Complimentary Access, and as the name suggests it shows hotels that offer you free access to their facilities.

Some of the offers may be tier-specific, so if you have don’t have Titanium status you may not see them. The terms are also very different – some are one-time use only, some are limited to two uses per month, and some are unlimited.

You need to use the provided form to pre-book, and I’d recommend confirm with the hotel beforehand as they might not be familiar with this new feature.

Many of these perks are quite handy if you happen to be visiting the city, or live nearby – although I’m not sure beach club access on a private Maldives island is useful to anyone except the staying guests!

GHA has started a new sweepstake. It’s easy to sign up and there are some good prizes.

Don’t be misled by languages such as Qualified Stay Dates on the promotion page. You don’t need any hotel stay to enter the draw, nor will it increase your chances of winning.

You earn one entry for simply registering, and additional entries by:

• Opting in to push messaging from the GHA DISCOVERY app and entering via promotional messaging sent the week of 12 December
• Following GHA DISCOVERY on Instagram and engaging in the competition that will take place the week of 26 December

Prizes include:

• 10 D$1,000 prizes
• 5 Titanium statuses and D$300
• 5 1-night stays and an Experience (D$550)
• 4 GHA DISCOVERY swag boxes and D$250
• 25 D$100 prizes
• 8 Platinum statuses and Experiences (D$250)
• 3 Titanium statuses and 1-night suite stays (D$3,000)

Personally I don’t value Titanium status much, as it’s very easy to qualify. Free night stays and D$ on the other hand are very worthwhile.

To build the brand awareness, GHA has offered quite a few generous promotions since the launch of its refreshed program. Another one has been released just now.

• You earn D$50 bonus for each stay up to four times

Note that only new bookings after offer registration trigger the bonus. Although the promotion is called Discover a Brand, the only restriction is that you can’t stay at the same brand as inscribed on your electronic membership card. It’s assumed to be the brand through which you joined the GHA program.

However, it appears that for the majority of us, there’s no accompanying brand on our membership card at all. And according to the FAQ, in this case we can stay at any participating GHA hotels.

Unlike Marriott’s Q3 promotion, you don’t have to stay with a new brand each time – in fact you can stay at the same hotel four times and still trigger the full $200 bonus.
