Hilton Q2 offer: Double or Triple points
Hilton’s Q2 promotion More Nights, More Points is now open to registration.
You can read about the offer and sign up here. Rules are very straightforward:
- Valid for stays between May 2 and September 5
- Earn double points for stays of one or two nights
- Earn triple points for stays of three nights or more
Your check-in date is irrelevant, but your check-out date must fall in the May 2 – September 5 window. There’s no cap on the bonus points you can earn.
Reward stays also count if base points are generated from incidental spend – a friend of mine just returned from a one-week trip in the Waldorf Astoria Maldives, having spent ten thousand dollars. Bad timing for him…
IHG targeted offer: earn up to 50k bonus points
IHG has launched a new targeted offer which is called Step Up To Rewards.
You could check your eligibility here.
- Stay from April 1 to May 17
- Earn bonus points after staying 2/4/6/10/20 nights
- Maximum award is 50,000 points
- Paid stay only
You could see the bonus ladder in the image above. This offer is similar to the Accelerate promotions that IHG used to run in the past, although not as generous. If you are not targeted, unfortunately it may mean no offer for you until May 17 at least…
On a different subject but still IHG-related, we named a few hotels where you could buy IHG points at as low as 0.46c during the current reward night sale. Unsurprisingly such deals are usually short-lived and they have all gone now.
If you are short of IHG points however, you could still buy them at 0.5c per point at the Londoner and Venetian hotels in Macau.
This is as good as the 100%-bonus-point promotion that IHG runs regularly, which is worth a go if you need some points right now – make sure you check the cancellation policy though.
Register Now: Marriott Q1 Every Night Counts promotion
Marriott’s Q1 promotion Every Night Counts is now open for registration.
You can access the offer here.
- Register by April 20th
- Stay between February 8th and May 4th
- 1,000 bonus points and 1 additional night credit for every paid night
- Homes & Villas, Marriott Vacation Club and Marriott Executive Apartments excluded
It’s quite similar to what Marriott offered last year, except that double points becomes 1,000 bonus points. The offer is very enticing, especially as Marriott is not giving free night credits this year like the last two, so maintaining elite status is not that easy anymore.
There was a sweet spot last year, where you could do 5 award nights + 1 paid night and earn double points/credits for the entire stay. I don’t think it will work this time, as it says every paid night instead of every paid stay, however the official FAQs should follow suit very soon to confirm.
Register now: earn double IHG points
IHG had a targeted 5k bonus points offer earlier, and they just released a global promotion for Q1.
You can sign up to the offer here:
- Register by Jan 31st
- Stay between Feb 1st and March 31st
- Earn double points for all qualifying stays
Not a great offer, but to my surprise the bonus points are elite qualifying. Remember that soon it will be much harder to retain status via elite qualifying points, so if it’s your usual approach it may be worth planning a few stays between February and March.
Revealed: Marriott Q1 promotion to start on Feb 8
(Read here – the promotion is now live)
@sydneyboi on Flyertalk received an email from Marriott today, at the bottom of which there’s a peek of the upcoming promotion:
Coming Soon: Every Night Counts Even More Watch your inbox for our newest promotion! You’ll earn more each night you stay between February 8 – May 4, 2022. Registration starts soon.
So we know the promotion period for certain, and it’s night-based rather than stay-based. From the phrasing I guess it’s similar to what Marriott had last year for Q1: double points and double elite night credits. Registration should start soon anyway so there’s no need for speculation.
In the meantime, Marriott just sent out another wave of targeted offers. Again I received nothing, but watch your mailbox, or check the Promotion Centre on their website.
New: join InterContinental Ambassador and earn 20k bonus points
You may recall that there’s an ongoing bonus points offer for Ambassador renewals. The offer has now been extended to new sign-ups too.
There’s a promo page in IHG’s weixin mini-program:
The terms appear to be exactly the same with the renewal offer:
- Join InterContinental Ambassador by March 31st
- Stay two paid nights at any participating hotels by April 30th
- Earn 20,000 bonus points
Stays booked using the weekend BOGOF voucher also qualifies for the bonus. The official tnc page isn’t updated yet, so for your peace of mind you may want to wait for the update before enrolling.
Hilton Q1 promotion: 2,500 bonus points per stay
Hilton’s 2022 Q1 promotion is open to registration.
- You need to check out between Jan 1st and May 1st
- Bookings can be made prior to offer registration
- You earn 2,500 bonus points per stay, and there’s no cap
- Reward stays count
Hilton is finally taking a break from the double / triple points offers. If I remember correctly the last similar promotion was to offer 2,000 bonus points per stay, so the current offer is not bad.
The most ideal scenario is for one-night reward stays, as it could just represent a nice discount on the points you pay, on top of the 1,000 welcome points Gold / Diamond members receive at most brands. Unfortunately dynamic reward pricing has already ruined most of the oversized redemption opportunities with Hilton.
While you are here, there are a few other Hilton offers that may be of interest:
Coming soon: Renew IHG Ambassador and earn 20K bonus points
InterContinental Ambassador is launching another promotion very soon. It’s not yet started so the tnc page hasn’t been updated yet, but IHG has already made an official announcement via their Weixin channel in China.
Here are the offer details:
- Renew your Ambassador membership between December 1st and March 31th
- Stay two nights at participating hotels
- Earn 20,000 bonus points
Remember that you can renew up to 92 days before the expiry date.
Unlike the previous couple of rounds, this time the offer aims at renewal only so if you are just joining you won’t be able to enrol. The offer also gets weaker, as it was stay one night to earn a 40k free night voucher last time.
There’s no need to registrate and you can choose to renew by paying $200 or 40,000 points. Note that the offer only goes live on Wednesday so do not renew yet!
